These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made to dine at Bydand Restaurant, Thurso, whether made via our website, by email, by telephone or in person. They contain important information about your reservation, and we kindly ask that you read them carefully. By making a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Who We Are
Bydand Restaurant is located at 2 Traill Street, Thurso, Caithness. You can contact us using the details provided on the Contact page of our website at bydandthurso.com.
Your Booking
Your reservation is not confirmed until you have received a booking confirmation from us and, where applicable, your deposit has been paid. A contract between you and Bydand Restaurant comes into existence at this point.
Reservation Deposit
To secure your reservation, we require a deposit of £10 per guest at the time of booking. This deposit is deducted from your final bill on the day of your visit.
The £10 per guest deposit is non-refundable if you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of the booking time, if you reduce the number of guests within 24 hours of the booking time, or if you do not attend (a “no-show”). Where a booking is made less than 24 hours before the reservation time, the deposit is non-refundable from the moment the booking is made.
If you cancel or reduce your party size more than 24 hours before the reservation time, your deposit will be refunded in full, or may be transferred to a future booking subject to availability.
Changing or Cancelling Your Booking
If you wish to change or cancel your reservation, you can do this by visiting our reservations page and clicking the view/cancel a reservation button. Or via our email 'enquiries@bydandthurso.com' as soon as possible. We will always do our best to accommodate changes, subject to availability. Please note the deposit terms set out above apply to all cancellations and changes.
We reserve the right to cancel your booking in exceptional circumstances. Where we do so, you will receive a full refund of any deposit paid, and we will have no further liability to you.
Late Arrival and No-Shows
Please arrive on time for your reservation. We will hold your table for 15 minutes after the booked time. If you have not arrived or contacted us within this period, we may release your table and treat the booking as a no-show, in which case the deposit will be retained.
Allergies and Dietary Requirements
Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of booking, and again with a member of our team on arrival. While we take all reasonable care to accommodate requirements and to avoid cross-contamination, our kitchen handles a range of allergens and we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from any particular allergen.
Special Events and Large Parties
For special event dates, festive menus, tasting menus or large group bookings, additional terms, pre-orders or higher deposit and payment requirements may apply. Any such terms will be confirmed to you at the time of booking.
Service Charge
Any service charge applied to your bill is optional and shared among our team. If you do not wish to pay it, please let a member of staff know and it will be removed.
Liability
We do not accept liability for personal belongings brought onto our premises. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland.
